Sleek Chic

Hi everyone!

Well that was an unexpectedly long hiatus. I'm so sorry for the unexplained absence but I'm finally back and ready to get into the swing of things.

The seasons have changed and so has my style. With being MIA I feel like I had used that time to overhaul the way I dressed, transitioning into a style that looks a little more minimalistic chic. Leading up to the end of my first semester of 3rd year, I can already see within myself how much my style has changed since the Summer. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though, of course for my come back post I'm going to be pictured in all black, monochromatic outfit. That part of my style will never change.

The 70s trend is one that has been really popular this A/W. Personally, it's not my cup of tea, however there is an exception with one item: the wide leg trousers. There's just something about them that when paired with a high neck crop top, it gives the overall look a modern 70s feel without going over board on the trend.

To contrast the all black outfit I decided to pair it with my beloved oversized beige coat. It's finally cold enough in the UK to start wearing this piece again. It never fails to amp up the chicness in an outfit, I love it!

Sticking to the minimal theme, I wanted to 'accessorise' this outfit with a bold statement lip as I don't normally wear jewellery to accessorise. So in replacement of that, I always choose to wear lipstick. I feel like it completes the look just as much as jewellery does. I'm not one to think that dark red lips are only reserved for the cold winter season, I think it looks great all year round, day and night. That being said, I haven't whipped out this shade in a while - I've been too caught up with the nude lip / Kylie Jenner lip colour trend, oops! Shooting this look though has reminded me how much I love this lip colour against my skin tone and how it makes me feel so elegant whenever I wear it. It is definitely one that makes me embrace my paleness!

With wearing a high neck top, I thought it was only right to style it with a slicked back low ponytail (not gonna lie, I did feel like I was channelling out Kim Kardashian vibes in doing this).

That's a wrap for this week's short but (hopefully) sweet post. I hope you guys enjoyed this look / teaser into my new style! I can't wait until this hectic semester at Uni is over so I can showcase the other outfits I have saved up my sleeve over here on Wearrior Instinct. Stay tuned!

P.s. we have collaborated with the lovely May from The Mayden so this post will be featured there as well. May is our favourite discovery this year, a fresh and talented Bruneian style blogger you'll definitely love! Show some love to May and do check out her blog :)

Happy Sunday everyone!

AINUL

STATUS: ACTIVE

Hello! Welcome to Wearrior Instinct. I'm Ainul! My style is described best as 'mix and match'. Fashion, to me, is a form of self expression. I dress for myself and I love exploring new and different ways to do it. I believe strongly that we all have the potential to be the best we can be; all we have to do is to follow our (Wearrior) Instinct.

MYUIZZU

STATUS: PAUSE

Hey! I'm Mu'izz. I'm currently taking my masters degree in Political Science at UCL. I would probably say that my fashion style is best described as "Good-boy Oxford look" and I love colours. Although, I am preppy for most of the time, I do also like to mix elements from other fashion style. Right now, I am exploring more of the urban style. For me, Fashion is a platform that expresses and embraces one's individuality. Hopefully, it will inspire you to wear your (Wearrior) instinct! – I am on a research leave at the moment, I will be back soon!

ALIA

STATUS: ACTIVE

Hi! I’m Alia Alkaff, a 20-year-old Graphic Design undergraduate at Norwich University of the Arts. Black enthusiast and a lover of all things minimalistic, which also happens to best describe my style of Fashion. With being a part of Wearrior Instinct it has encouraged me greatly to be proud of what I wear and I hope we as a team will have that effect to bring out your inner Wearrior Instinct!

02FEZ

STATUS: HIATUS

My name is Faiz, but most people call me Fez. I studied at the the University of Leeds and graduated in 2015. I currently run a pop-up based coffee business called Aoyama Coffee. My interests in fashion lie more in on streetwear - and bridging the gap between it and menswear. I'm a fan of the little things in labels that set them apart from others, and my taste is a little unconventional, to say the least. I'm also really into raw denim. I should mention that I'm on hiatus at the moment - but I will be back!

AMSAIMZ

STATUS: ACTIVE

Oh hi there! I run a YouTube channel called AMSAIMA, where I create beauty and styling vlogs. I like to think of my fashion sense as multifaceted - I could dress to the nines with textured garments, look quirky while donning a pair of boyfriend jeans, or go for an alternative retro. Wearrior Instinct doesn’t just provide a space for me to document my looks and write about the pieces I’ve put together, but as I’m all about body positivity, I see this as an opportunity where confidence can be both built and encouraged. Lots of love, Amalsaima (or simply, Amal).
