Dark Winter

Hello everyone!

I am officially back to blogging, in which it's my very first post for 2016! In addition to that, I am super duper excited to tell you that I had a collaboration with one of the photographers that I find to be very unique because she utilises film photography. It's Fifi H. Hasman and her blog is The Rustic Trove, do check out her blog, I really recommend it because her photography is just incredible.

Since it's 2016, I have decided to take a different approach to my style of blogging, photography and clothing. Hopefully, you guys will like the change and don't worry too much because there will be previous elements of old Wearrior M, as I will still have a reference point.

The title of the post definitely gives the hint about the outfit that I have picked for this post and it resonates around two central dark colours – black and navy blue.

I will show you guys the outfit bit by bit and you'll see how it looks like when it is put together by the end of the post.

Parka Jacket: ZARA
It is my very first Parka jacket and I bought it during my final undergraduate year. It is very comfortable as a jacket and I have never experienced any personal discomfort wearing it. The jacket keeps me very warm during winter. One of my favorite thing about the jacket is that it consists of 8 pockets! I can carry quite a lot of little stuff around with me. It is navy blue in colour with a brown fur. I also find the design to be very masculine looking.

Cardigan: River Island
Shirt: ASOS
Interestingly, this is my favorite cardigan but I have never featured it on this blog. I bought it when I was 18 years old doing my first year. It is a shawl-collared navy blue cardigan from River Island. The colour of the buttons also matches well with the navy blue giving it such classic look. White oxford shirt just complements the entire outfit.

Chinos: ASOS
Boots: Timberland
I have featured this Chinos multiple times, so I am gonna skip it. I love the comfort of it, although, it seems like I have to be getting a new one soon. I am very excited to show you guys my new Timberland boots, it is exactly like my previous brown Timberland boots, except this time, there's a switcheroo with the colour being black. It is such a minimalist design, definitely an eye-catcher whenever I wear it for classes.

Bag: Stumper & Fielding

To complete the outfit, I always love a handy bag pack. This bag pack is very new and I bought it from a UK independent store – Stumper & Fielding. It is located at Portobello Road at Notting Hill Gate. The store is amazing, do check them out! The bag is navy blue in colour with brown leathered design. Just so you know, the bag is actually huge! I can fit a lot of things into this bag.

A close of upper half
The outfit is very simple yet very convenient for winter. The overall look is, of course, smart casual, which the look that I always go for. However, the colour just gives it an interesting twist, where it exhibits such edginess, as well as the alternative look. If I wore different coloured trousers, it would change the whole look completely.

Profile view of outfit

To conclude this post, I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Fifi H. Hasman, a.k.a The Rustic Trove. It was such an interesting and fun photoshoot, I really enjoyed working with her, as well as getting to know the photographer even further. I am profoundly amazed at the film photography skills, it blew me away and how she managed to change the feel and basically acted as a catalyst for the reinvention. To check out her blog, again, I really urge you guys to see her work.

I will be back next month with another outfit. Stay tuned.

    1. Hello, May! Thank you so much for your kind words. I personally loved collaborating with Fifi as well, her film photography skills are amazing.

Thought that I needed some change, so I'm changing the way I'm formatting the post, should be very consistent like this post for the future.

I have to say, I am very impressed with your blog, the outfits are amazing and photos are incredible, as well. Hope we can collaborate on something in the near future.

AINUL

STATUS: ACTIVE

Hello! Welcome to Wearrior Instinct. I'm Ainul! My style is described best as 'mix and match'. Fashion, to me, is a form of self expression. I dress for myself and I love exploring new and different ways to do it. I believe strongly that we all have the potential to be the best we can be; all we have to do is to follow our (Wearrior) Instinct.

MYUIZZU

STATUS: PAUSE

Hey! I'm Mu'izz. I'm currently taking my masters degree in Political Science at UCL. I would probably say that my fashion style is best described as "Good-boy Oxford look" and I love colours. Although, I am preppy for most of the time, I do also like to mix elements from other fashion style. Right now, I am exploring more of the urban style. For me, Fashion is a platform that expresses and embraces one's individuality. Hopefully, it will inspire you to wear your (Wearrior) instinct! – I am on a research leave at the moment, I will be back soon!

ALIA

STATUS: ACTIVE

Hi! I’m Alia Alkaff, a 20-year-old Graphic Design undergraduate at Norwich University of the Arts. Black enthusiast and a lover of all things minimalistic, which also happens to best describe my style of Fashion. With being a part of Wearrior Instinct it has encouraged me greatly to be proud of what I wear and I hope we as a team will have that effect to bring out your inner Wearrior Instinct!

02FEZ

STATUS: HIATUS

My name is Faiz, but most people call me Fez. I studied at the the University of Leeds and graduated in 2015. I currently run a pop-up based coffee business called Aoyama Coffee. My interests in fashion lie more in on streetwear - and bridging the gap between it and menswear. I'm a fan of the little things in labels that set them apart from others, and my taste is a little unconventional, to say the least. I'm also really into raw denim. I should mention that I'm on hiatus at the moment - but I will be back!

AMSAIMZ

STATUS: ACTIVE

Oh hi there! I run a YouTube channel called AMSAIMA, where I create beauty and styling vlogs. I like to think of my fashion sense as multifaceted - I could dress to the nines with textured garments, look quirky while donning a pair of boyfriend jeans, or go for an alternative retro. Wearrior Instinct doesn’t just provide a space for me to document my looks and write about the pieces I’ve put together, but as I’m all about body positivity, I see this as an opportunity where confidence can be both built and encouraged. Lots of love, Amalsaima (or simply, Amal).
